This is a sequence of story scenes from the beginning of the Lacour Front Lines (in Claude's story) to just before the Tower of Eluria on the Continent of El. There are a few segments where minor lines will be different depending on the party you have. The optionals I had in this save were Celine, Opera, Ernest and Bowman. ========== (!) (...) (sweatdrop) etc. = the SO2 emoticons; (<) is the yellow alert/noticing things emoticon, (X) is the frustated squiggly cloud of annoyance, and (;;;) is the nervous multiple sweatdrops as opposed to one big one. xD *these are actions ...* - this is in-game flavour text - #, ##, and ### denote different options and their results. __________ [Commander's Office] Claude: *pauses at the door* (!) *gets into position and stands at attention beside a line of other fighters, including Dias* General Commander: Welcome to our front line Headquarters. It is gratifying and reassuring to have even one new ally. Claude: Thank you very much. Dias: (<) *turns to glance in Claude's direction, then turns back* General Commander: I think King Lacour will be sending new fighters after tomorrow. You people are specially selected elite soldiers. I'm counting on you to rout the monster army. Dias: (...) The military situation for our side is bad then. General Commander: (?) Why do you ask? Dias: I've never heard of Lacour hiring fighters before. General Commander: (sweatdrop) Well ... that's not ... that's not really the case. We just thought that the monsters should be beaten thoroughly. Dias: All right. I'll leave it at that. General Commander: {;;;} Let's ha ... let's call it a day then. We have a very early morning tomorrow. Keep yourself in good shape, each one of you. *all of the fighters exit, save Claude. If you talk to the remaining men:* General Commander: Are you doubting me too? The military situation is favor ... favorable ... to US! Deputy Commander: General Commander, just a little longer before things will improve. *Claude leaves the room* Rena: *greets Claude outside* Did you see him, Claude? Dias was there! Claude: Yeah, Dias was there. (...) Rena: What happened? You don't look too happy. Claude: Well, I'm happy but somehow I feel angry too. It's a complicated feeling ... Rena: *nods* That may be so ... Claude: (;;;) Sorry for saying such odd things. Rena: *tilts her head* No, no. I may be like that too. I still feel angry with Dias for disappearing from the village 2 years ago and leaving the villagers worrying for all this time but, still, I feel glad when I see him. Claude: There is one thing I want to ask you. Rena: (?) What is it? Claude: Why did Dias leave the village? Rena: Well, that's ... ????: Want to hear it? Claude and Rena: *turn towards the voice* (!) Dias: *strides over, facing Claude* It's been a long time ... well, not really. We just saw each other at the Arms Tournament. Claude: We seem to meet quite often. Dias: Do we attract each other? Or is there someone who's bringing us together ... *turns to Rena* Rena: (;;;) What? Me?! Dias: *turns back to Claude* This just happens because I go from battle to battle. Isn't it the same with you? Claude: I'm ... Dias: Investigating the Sorcery Globe? That's okay too. But isn't the Sorcery Globe always at the vortex of wars? Claude: (!) Dias: That being the case, I wish you'd stop saying things like "essentially I hate fighting." *strides down the hallway, Claude and Rena watching him leave* Claude: I too, am an outsider on this planet. Rena: *turns to Claude* What? (...) Excuse me. There's something I want to discuss with Dias. I've never heard Dias talk like that. Claude: (?) What's this about? Rena: Claude, I think you're making Dias become aware of something. I can tell. Claude: (...) What do you mean ... making him aware? Rena: I'm Dias' "little sister"! Leave this to me! *turns and dashes after Dias* Claude: (...) "Little sister" ...? [the following depends on who is in your party] Bowman: Ah ha! Claude is relieved by the words "little sister". Claude: (sweatdrop) Wh ... wha ... what? Shall we get some fresh air outside? [on the ledge between the Weapons Shop and the Warehouse] Claude: *walks up to Dias* Dias: Is that you, Claude ...? (...) I'm relieved it's you. Look after Rena. Claude: (?) What? Dias: *leaves* Claude: Dias! Dias: *stops* Claude: Even if you want me to be as strong as you, I won't be able to protect Rena to the end! What do you want me to do!? Dias: (...) You really think I'm strong? Claude: (?) What? Dias: *turns to face Claude* What kind of strength do you think I have? It's the power to protect myself. It's not for protecting someone else. It hit me when I saw you ... Claude: (...) Strength to protect someone else ...? Dias: Rena is my very dear "little sister". Please protect her. *turns and leaves* Claude: You, Dias, are telling me to protect Rena ...? [after finding Rena, who is at the lookout by where the Lacour Hope will be installed] Claude: How terrible ... Rena: (<) *turns to Claude* Yes ... Claude: (...) Rena. You know, I still haven't heard the reason Dias left the village. Rena: *bows her head* (...) It's because his family was attacked by bandits and killed. Claude: (!) [flashback - outside the Shingo forest] *Dias is lying face down on the ground. The bodies of his parents are lying around him in pools of blood. A little blue-haired girl, the only one standing, is the closest to the edge of the woods and backs away from the bandits. However, they have her surrounded. One stabs her, and the other kicks her repeatedly while Dias reaches one hand out futilely. Finally, the bandits leave.* Dias: Father ... Mother ... Cecille ... [flashback fades out] Rena: Only Dias survived ... miraculously. *bows her head again* From that time on, Dias has been blaming himself for the deaths of his parents and his little sister, Cecille. Claude: (?) Why does he call you "little sister"? Rena: *looks up and turns to gaze out at the pass* I was always close to Cecille. We were as close as real sisters could be. Dias, too, was like a real big brother to me ... until that happened. Claude: I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked you. Rena: *turns back to Claude* Oh no, Claude. I wanted you to know. Claude: (...) Thanks Rena. Rena: And I think Dias wanted you to hear it too. Claude: Rena, it all began for me with the story of the "Warrior of Light" and now here I am ... Rena: Claude ... Claude: *walks over to Rena* I'll protect you. I'm sure I was put here to do that. Rena: *bows her head again* Claude ... - Next day ... - [if you talk to Dias in the Weapon Shop] Dias: I'll see with my own eyes how well you've polished your skills. [after talking to everyone] Claude: *walks into the hallway* Soldier: A horde of mu mu mu monsters ...! Claude: (!) *all around them, people start to panic* Rena: Claude, We have to go help. [at the lookout post] *a monster is flying in the air. Fighters are (;;;)ing all around* Shin: Ha, ha, ha. What a lukewarm reception!! You still try to resist? Well, I'll toy with you for just a bit ... before you DIE!!!! [boss battle] Shin: Hmmm ... I guess that's enough for today ... I'll be going but I'll show no mercy next time ... *disappears in a flash of light* Claude: NO! He's escaped! Deputy Commander: (<) You've done well. He must have been surprised at this unexpected turn of events. Claude: Do you think he'll be back? Deputy Commander: The only thing we can do is wait to see what they do ... Soldier: Deputy Commander, Sir! Everyone: (<) Soldier: *enters* A message has arrived from the Castle ... the Energy Stone's been completed! Deputy Commander and Claude: (!) Deputy Commander: What? ... really? Soldier: They plan to deliver it to the front line as soon as possible so they want us to hold on until then! Deputy Commander: I see, then we'll have to resist the enemy with everything we have! Claude: Now the Lacour Hope will really be completed. - Several days later ... - [at the ledge between the Weapon Shop and Warehouse] Soldier: (?) How many days since the monsters began attacking the front line? Claude: *turns his head to listen* Soldier: We just keep sending soldiers to the field hospital. Soldier: Many fighters are being sent in to the Reinforcement Unit but they say only about half of them are actually of any use ... Soldier: What happened to the Energy Stone? I heard they have it. Why hasn't it arrived? [after sleeping in Field Hospital] Claude: *about to leave* Soldier: *ploughs in, shoving Claude backwards* It's horrible, a horde of monsters in the northern sky again! Everyone: (!) Claude: Has everyone gone to fight them already? Soldier: (;;;) Yes. Just about everyone who can walk armed themselves and went ... Give us as much cooperation as you can. Excuse me. *leaves* Nurses: (sweatdrop) [outside the Field Hospital] Nurse: Please help us again. A horde of monsters is getting near. Please, I beg of you. [at the lookout post] *the sky is blood red* Claude: *to Dias* Where is the swarm of monsters? Dias: I don't think they'll come right way. But it probably won't be more than 10 minutes or so. *they both turn back to face the sky. In the distance, thousands of flying shapes appear and near. Everyone, save Dias and Claude, start (;;;)ing* Claude: There are too many of them. We can't fight them off by ourselves ... Dias: What else can we do? We'll have to do what we can. Claude: (...) So, we are just pawns to buy time, huh? Dias: Try to survive. Claude: That goes for both of us. *they turn to face the swarm again* ????: We don't need any meaningless fighting! *Everyone turns to see Leon appear and hop up the stairs to the Lacour Hope* *FMV of monsters swarming closer. The Lacour Hope is charged and a beam is fired, disintegrating the monsters in a massive explosion* Soldier: What was that ... just now? Leon: *hops back down* Soldier: The La ... Lacour ... Hope? Leon: What did you think, everyone? That's the power of the Lacour Hope! Everyone: *turns to look at Leon, and begin talking all at once* Soldier: Victory is ours! Soldier: Victory will be ours!! Soldier: We can win, if we have the Lacour Hope!! Claude: Leon. Leon: What do you think? THat's the Lacour Hope. Terrific, isn't it? Dias: Oh. You made that weapon? Leon: That's right. A weapon like that, I can make it if I have 2 days or so. Claude: (...) You are full of confidence, as usual. Leon: But I CAN! Claude: (X) Leon: (<) By the way Claude, Poppa and Mama have something to discuss with you. Ask them, okay? [if you talk to Dias] Dias: I've nothing to say about it, good or bad ... [in the hallway] Claude: (<) Murdoch: Why you are the ones who went to Hoffman Ruins to collect the ore ... Claude: Yes, that's right. Murdoch: Oh perfect! I've been looking for you. *Dias, Leon, the General Commander and the Deputy Commander all enter* Claude: Yes, that's what we heard. What's this about? Florice: Using the opportunity offered by the completion of the Lacour Hope, King Lacour intends to invade the Continent of El at once. That's where we'd like to have your help. Claude: (!) He's going to invade the Continent of El? Murdoch: Yes. Once the Lacour Hope is completed everything is ours. We will be returning to the Castle to plan our strategy. Of course, we want you to come along. Random party member: (?) Will the front line defense be okay? Florice: We'll keep the Lacour Hope here until we return. The monster horde is not stupid. For the time being, they are likely to watch what we are up to. Who knows, maybe they think they're at a disadvantage and are already preparing to retreat to Eluria Castle. Leon: So that's the situation then. We've virtually won. Everyone: *turns to look at Leon* Claude: Virtually won ...? Murdoch: That may be so but we have no time. General Commander, Deputy Commander, let's head to Lacour Castle at once. *Everyone leaves. Claude pauses, turns and looks at Dias, and the two of them leave as well* [at Lacour Castle] King Lacour: Now, the reason you have been summoned here is none other than to announce that the time to invade El is at hand. Deputy Commander: The Lacour Hope was completed due to the tireless efforts of the researchers and it has displayed its devastating effectiveness in decimating monsters. Now is the time. We must go on the attack! Murdoch: In any case, the power of the Lacour Hope has been demonstrated. I think it would be best to attack right away without giving the enemy a chance to counter. General Commander: An arrangement has been made to send a full fleet from Hilton to the coast of Eluria. With your Majesty's command it can depart at any time. King Lacour: The enemy's main base at this point in time is thought to be in Eluria. We must then head for Eluria. Deputy Commander: The strategy has already been decided. We will go up to the northwest coast of Eluria with a warship carrying the Lacour Hope and burn out Eluria itself in a flash with the Lacour Hope. Claude: (!) If so, what would happen to the people living on the Continent of El? King Lacour: Fear not. The Lacour Hope's sights will not be turned on Eluria as soon as the Continent comes into view. We shall first send a commando unit onto the Continent. Deputy Commander: The priorities are to determine the safety of the people of El and to lead them to a safe place. After that, the Lacour Hope will be fired at Eluria. Murdoch: Even during that time, we will keep on firing at the enemy if that's needed King Lacour: What we ask of you is to be that commando unit. The warship will burn out the initial swarm of monsters with the Lacour Hope and come off shore of El. You will then make a landing and confirm the safety of the civilians. Deputy Commander: We want you to defer your investigation of the Sorcery Globe until the war of the monsters is settled. Claude: ... So be it then. King Lacour: Then it's decided! Time precious. Depart for Hilton as soon as possible. Load the Lacour Hope onto the warship and depart for the Eluria coast. [Port Hilton] *on the bridge* Dias: What a monster this ship is. Leon: The Lacour Hope must be loaded on the ship and taken to see. You have seen how powerful it is, so take the utmost care! Dias: What's the boss doing chatting over here? Is that taking the utmost care? Leon: (X) *runs off* (;;;) Claude and Rena: *watch Leon run away, then turn their attention back on Dias when he speaks* Dias: What do you think about this battle? Claude: (<) Invading the El continent with the Lacour Hope? Dias: We may have the advantage as far as weaponry. But do you think the enemy will just give up? Claude: (...) We still don't know the real strength of the monsters. So far we've been able to defeat all the monsters we have met. But there may be a more powerful Boss behind all of them. And we wouldn't know how strong he is ... Dias: You're cautious. I agree. Basically. What if all of the monsters we've faced up to this point are less than small fry? If you think of it that way, the outcome is clear. Claude: (?) Then what must we do to beat them? Dias: It's obvious. Destroy their leader. Make it so they will never try to attack us again. Claude: *steps forward* (...) The next time we meet, I hope we'll talk about our victories. Dias: *turns away* I'm not expecting anything. Claude: (X) Dias! Can't you just say something FRIENDLY for once!? Dias: *turns back* Heh, I'm glad to see you still have enough energy to get angry like that. You'll do OK. I'll be at the front line. *exits* Rena: Dias ... He's gone. Claude: (<) Rena? Rena: Maybe it's silly ... But I got the feeling that I'll never see Dias again ... Claude: Nonsense! Dias is the one person who can take care of himself. Soldier: The warship is preparing to leave port! All hands aboard immediately! Claude: (...) We have to go. *Claude and Rena exit* [onboard] Admiral: We'll be soon off the northwest shore of the continent of El. We'll be going ashore soon. Murdoch: All preparations for the Lacour Hope are complete. We will be able to face the enemy and fire at will. Supreme Commander: We still have seen no sign of the enemy. What does this mean? Admiral: We will soon cross the absolute line of defense. Don't let down your guard. Florice: How could you bring a child to such a place ... This child will become a great scientist someday. Leon: (X) Big Brother ... Claude: (...) Soldier: Bogeys at 12 o'clock high! Looks like an aerial squadron!! Everyone: (!) Admiral: Don't panic! Remember, we've got the Lacour Hope on our side! Murdoch: Florice, prepare to initiate Lacour Hope bombardment! Florice: Yes, sir! Leon, are you ready? Leon: Of course, Mama! Energy charge is at 99.85%. Firing preparations complete! Murdoch: Good! FIRE! [FMV of Lacour Hope firing from the warship. Shin and his horde deflect easily.] Leon: I can't ... believe it! Admiral: The Lacour Hope ... has no effect?! Could that be ... *screen darkens as Claude realizes something* Claude: (!) A defense shield like those used on spaceships ...?! Could it be ...? *screens lightens again* Rena: They're coming here! [battle] Claude: Are you hurt? Admiral: I'm all right ... It's just our counterattack ... [FMV of Shin soaring towards to the ship] Murdoch: (!) They're coming again!! Claude: (!) [fixed boss battle] Shin: Wealkings! You scum are too weak! Now you will be shark food!! *kicks them off the ship* Leon: Ah, ah, ah ... Everyone: (!) Shin: You fools! How could you not know that the weapon itself is a decoy? Murdoch: The weapon itself ...?! Curse it ... Shin: Well, well, how shall we finish them off ... Florice: Leon, run! Everyone: (;;;) *jumps off the ship* Stone Statue: They have run away ... Shin: I don't care. They won't live long anyway. Stone Statue: THe other battleships have gained nearly complete control. There are virtually no survivors. Shin: Good. Just as planned. *They wrap webs around the Lacour Hope and the Energy stone* Shin: This is the only thing we need. Now they have no means of defying us. We have won. [screen fades to black] - My body is heavy ... - - I can't see anything ... - - Everything is sinking ... - - or am I sinking ...? - - A comforting sound ... - - Where ...? - - He ...? - [on the beach of the coast of Eluria] Claude: *sits up slowly* Where ... am I? I seem to have been saved, but ... what? *gets up* That's right. At that time, we were defeated and thrown into the ocean, and then I was saved, alone ... Claude: (!) Alone?! *looks around, and slumps* Oh no ... Was I the only one saved ...? *He walks towards the lapping waves* Claude: Alone again ... Rena ... *moments pass* Claude: (!) I can dimly hear someone's voice ... *runs off in the direction* *He finds Leon unconcious on the beach, and shakes him* Claude: Leon ... Leon. Leon: Ooh ... yeah. *gets up and looks around* Big Brother ... Where are we ...? Claude: *crouched down, at eye level with Leon* I don't know myself ... Leon: *walks towards the waves and looks around again* Say, where is Mama? And Papa, and your friends ...? Claude: *gets up* (...) *head bows down* Leon: NO! It can't be! Is everyone gone? Are we the only ones left? Claude: Leon ... Leon: Tell me it's not true! Are we the only ones? Were we the only ones saved? Claude: Leon, it's still not certain ... Leon: *collapses and pounds the sand* Mama too? Papa too? NO, NO! NOT THEM! *gets up, bawling* NO, NO NOOOOOOO! WAAAAAAAAAAAH!! Claude: Leon, let's go search. Your parents must be somewhere. Leon: Stop trying to console me. No one's left alive!! Claude: (!) Don't say that! Leon: But there's no one else here. We're the only ones left, right? Our being saved is meaningless!! Claude: *runs to face Leon* Leon, calm down ... Leon: I wish I had died!! Claude: (!) *grabs Leon and smacks him in the face* Leon: *hand rubbing his face* Claude: SHUT UP!! Listen, don't you EVER say that again!! Have you even thought about how sad that would make the people who love you? Think about that!! Leon: But Papa and Mama and Big Brother's friends, they're all gone ! Claude: They're just not here. That doesn't mean that they're dead. Leon: There are demons all around. We'll be killed. Claude: I'll slay them. Leon: (...) *straightens up a little* But ... Claude: Are you using your head? If you keep cool, you should be able to find out what to do next, right? Leon: (...) *perks up, and face reddens* Claude: I think you finally understand. Anyway, we were saved, so the others must be saved too. If so, then they too may have drifted to the same place. Rather than brooding about here, don't you think it's better to go search for the others? Leon: *nods* Claude: So it's decided. [at Eluria Colony] *Everyone is waiting in the colony. Rena is pacing as Claude enters, followed by Leon* Rena: (<) Claude!! Claude: Rena! Leon: Big Brother!! *Rena runs over and clings to Claude* Claude: Rena ... Rena: Claude ... [this may change depending on party members] Celine: Claude, are you all right, darling? Claude: *with Rena sniffling on his chest* I'm fine. Ernest: I never stopped believing in you, but I can't say I wasn't worried. Claude: *scratches his head* Is everyone OK? Opera: We just drifted along, and only you were missing. Claude: So that's it ... *silence* Celine: Now, darlings, why don't you two put some space between you? (OR) Bowman: Now, why don't you two put some space between you? Claude and Rena: (<) *separate, their faces red* Rena: *turns back to Claude* I don't want anyone but you. I can't live without you, Claude. Claude: *turns back to Rena* Rena, I ... *silence* Bowman: Hey, hey, you shouldn't be creating your own little world of just you two here. (OR) Celine: I'm just mortified. They've managed to snub us completely. Random party member: *steps forward* So Claude, you then met Leon and came here, right? Leon: *walks to the side* ... Rena : (?) What's wrong, Leon. Leon: ... Are Papa and Mama gone? Rena: Huh? Leon: Big Brother said the others are here, but are Papa and Mama gone? Rena: Um ... Leon: *turns around, then looks away and droops* So after all, Papa and Mama are ... Claude: *walks over to Leon and scratches his head* You still don't know that for a fact, do you? Are you going give up so soon? Leon: ... Rena: Leon, I'm sure that your father and mother are fine. (<) *walks towards them* The villagers told me that if someone I was looking for came here, then I should immediately bring that person to the leader of the colony. Claude: I wonder if he wants to ask me something ... Rena: We haven't told him our story yet. I think he might want to talk to us. Claude: You're right. Leon, let's go talk to him about your parents. Leon: *perks up* OK ... [Leader's hut] Leader: And you are ... Rena: *steps forward* We have found our friends who we were searching for. Claude: Thank you for saving Rena and the others. Leader: It was nothing, but how are you doing? If you are tired, we can talk later. Woman: Wait! Did you people come from Lacour? Claude and Rena: (...) Claude: Yes ... That's right. Woman: I thought so!! You've come to rescue us, right?! Where are the ships coming for us? Rena: That ... *turns towards the leader* Youth: If you think about why they are here, don't you get it? Claude: I'm sorry. Woman: What do you mean? Leader: It must mean that Lacour has been defeated by the demons. Rena: I'm afraid that's true. Woman: How can that be! Leader: It can't be helped. The demons were too strong. The demons have become extraordinarily strong since the Sorcery Globe landed. Woman: *turns around and walks away* Claude : *scratches his head and steps forward* Can I ask you something? Leader: *turns to him* What is it? Claude: The place where the Sorcery Globe landed, what has come of it now? Leader: *turns around and walks up the steps* Youth: At first, it was merely the point of impact. But then, after demons began to appear in the area, people began to whisper that, perhaps the Sorcery Globe itself was the mother of all demons. Everyone: (<) Claude: The mother of all demons ... Youth: The Sorcery Globe made a huge crater in Eluria where it landed. It was horrible. More than half the town was destroyed. But even that was better than now. Eluria has now turned into a den where demons prowl. Claude: A den of demons ... Leader: Eluria was quickly overrun by demons, and has become their stronghold. The town no longer bears any resemblance to its original form. Rena: That's terrible. Why ... Woman: *turns back* It's all because of the Sorcery Globe! If that thing hadn't landed, all this wouldn't have ... *turns away again* Claude: So Eluria has become the enemy stronghold. Leader: (?) Yes, but ... Claude: *steps forward* That is exactly why we have come here! We are not the kind of people who could just watch and do nothing. Celine: Claude, you ...! Leader and Youth: *turn to look at Claude* Leader: *turns away* Youth: Do you know what you're saying? Claude: Of course. We'll go to Eluria and investigate the source of the evil. If it turns out to be the Sorcery Globe, ... we'll destroy it. Woman: *whirls around* That's preposterous! You'd never be able to do such a thing! Leader: There may be no other way. That may be the only remaining means of fighting back. Woman: *turns her back on them and walks away again* But ... Leader: Is that not why we have kept our cache of weapons? Woman: *turns around* Leader: *faces Claude* You people may have a slight chance of doing it, and if you want to take that risk, we will cooperate as much as we can. We have a small supply of weapons in the Armory. Please take what you need. Rena: Thank you very much! Claude: Well, can I ask you one more thing? Leader: What is it? Claude: Other than us, have you heard of anyone else washing up on shore? Leader: No, I haven't ... Leon: ... Claude: *turns to Leon* Then, can you look after this boy for a while? Leon: Big Brother?! Claude: Your parents were lost at sea. *turns to leader again* They might be brought to this colony. Rather than you coming along with us and worrying, I think it would be better for you to stay here and wait for your parents to come. Leader: That's fine with us, but what about you? Claude: # Waiting here is better for your sake. ## Why don't you come with us after all? __________ # Claude: Waiting here is better for your sake. Leon: Big Brother ... Claude: What? We'll be back as soon as we defeat the enemy. Leon, you know you have to stay here and protect the village. Leon: OK, OK, OK! *turns away and droops* Claude: *turns to the leader* So that's that. Please take care of him. Leader: I understand. We will take responsibility for his safety. Leon: *walks up the stairs, then turns to Claude* Come back soon. Claude: OK. [if you talk to Leon again* Leon: Big Brother, I'll wait here. Come back soon. __________ ## Claude: Why don't you come with us after all? Leon: Big Brother ... Claude: I guess you'd feel uneasy suddenly being left alone in an unknown place. Why don't you let the people of the village look after your Mama and Papa while you come with us? Leon: *walks up to Claude* Yes, Big Brother, I'll come along with you and the others. Claude: Let's do that after all. *turns to the leader* Will you please look after Leon's parents? Leader: I understand. The people of the colony are now going to rescue anyone who might have been washed ashore. We will be sure to save his parents. Youth: Please take care. I wish you the best of luck in battle. Claude: Just leave it to us. We'll be sure to come back with news of victory. __________ [in the Armory] Youth: The weapons are stored in barrels-o. Take 'em. But you'll have to buy the tools-o. *After stocking up, Claude gets ready to leave* Youth: (!) That's right-o. *walks to Claude* Claude: (?) Youth: When I escaped from Eluria-o, I picked this up-o. What is it-o? Rena: What? What's this? Rena and Youth: (?) Claude: *examines it and steps forward* It's an ID card. It appears to be from quite an advanced civilization. Rena and Youth: (?) Rena: What are you talking about? Claude: Well, no, um ... Nothing. Forget it. *hangs his head* Rena: (?) Youth: (?) There's not point in me hanging-o onto it, so I'll give it to you-o. [ID Card acquired.] Rena: What can we use this for ... *they exit* [on board the Calnus] Helmsman: All's well, Commodore. Ronixis: (...) Helmsman: Commodore, 8 hours and 27 minutes before arrive at destination. Ronixis: (...) Helmsman: Commodore, are you listening? Ronixis: (...) Kurtzman: *turns to Ronixis* Commodore, I understand how you must be feeling, but you must get a hold of yourself! Officer: Irregular energy activity detected in the Arctura System of Theta Sector. Ronixis: I already know that. It's a high-energy body with a period of 7,527 years. Officer: Yes. Your memory is incredible, Commodore. Ronixis: (...) Kurtzman and Officer: (sweatdrop) Operator: (<) Commodore, what is this ...? Ronixis: (?) What? Operator: An unconfirmed Mayday transmission seems to be emanating from the fourth planet of the Arctura System! Officer: *turns to Operator* Give me the data on the fourth planet. Operator: The fourth planet has a population of about 1 billion. Class M. Lately it has exhibited an irregular orbital path due to the effects of the high-energy body. Ronixis: The Arctura System has yet to be surveyed, has it not? Officer: That's correct sir. There are no reports from any survey teams at this time. Helmsman: Mayday transmission confirmed! Output to main monitor! (!) Why this is from Federation Service number ... 1449-2356-8733-1292G? Ronixis, Kurtzman and Officer: (!) Ronixix: Can it be ... Claude!? Officer: C-Commodore ... Ronixis: (...) Full warp speed!! Head for Arctura 4, NOW!! Helmsman: (both at the same time) Yes SIR!!
